As businesses, nonprofits, and organizations gathered under one roof to acknowledge the hard work of those nominated for both personal and professional character and work ethic - the Waxahachie Chamber was thrilled to celebrate with the community as a whole.


    From glossy trophies to well-deserved achievements - the night was filled with heartwarming moments and standing ovations for those who make Waxahachie the best place to work, play, grow and worship!


    And in case you missed the magic of this year’s 2019 Excellence Awards Banquet, we’d like to again publicly recognize those who have gone above and beyond this year!



    Ambassador’s Award

    The winner of the Ambassador’s Award is someone who truly went above and beyond the call in being the face and voice that the Chamber needs by actively engaging with members and understanding Chamber programs and benefits. Ambassadors are vital to the sustainability of the organization.  The 2019 Ambassador’s Award went to Jonathan Bell of Covenant Life Church.


    Mabel Frame Award

    Given each year in honor of Mabel Frame, a true tourism icon of the city. The recipient of the award is one who has given of themselves or their organization to make a positive impact on the tourism industry in Waxahachie. The 2019 Mabel Frame Award went to John and Arlene Hamilton.


    Leadership Waxahachie Award

    This individual, as an alumnus of Leadership Waxahachie, has provided significant, effective community service for the purpose of improvement. They are also a community role model who shows unselfish commitment to helping others.  This person has met existing challenges and accepted new ones, explored non-traditional opportunities for our community, and broaden their horizon to include new goals. The 2019 Leadership Waxahachie Award went to Shelle Blaylock of Waxahachie ISD.


    Keep Waxahachie Beautiful Award

    Given to an individual or business that has promoted beautification efforts throughout the city; therefore, encouraging new development and community pride. The 2019 Keep Waxahachie Beautiful Award went to Acker Home Team, Acker Construction.  


    Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award  

    This award is presented to a nonprofit organization that went above and beyond the call of duty by careful execution of their mission thereby benefiting the community at large. The 2019 Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award went to The Miracle League of Ellis County.


    Small Business of the Year Award

    Recognizing a small business in the community, this award is given to a company that has fewer than 150 employees.  The company must demonstrate excellence in business practices including superior customer service, quality workplace environment, opportunities for staff training, and a commitment to Chamber and community involvement. The 2019 Small Business of the Year Award went to BAT Security Services.



    Large Business of the Year Award

    This award is given to a business with more than 150 employees.  Through their commitment to the community, this company supports economic development through new job creation, fair business practices, and philanthropic activities. The 2019 Large Business of the Year Award went to Chick-fil-A of Waxahachie.


    Industry of the Year Award

    This award is given to an industry that is seen as a role model by its peers.  They encourage strong business practices, ethics, community involvement and leadership.  Their commitment to civic involvement and getting their employees heavily invested in their community work makes them a role model for all businesses. The 2019 Industry of the Year Award went to Americase, LLC.


    Newcomer of the Year Award

    This year’s award goes to a new business that made their presence known in a hurry.  You see them at Chamber events, school events, church events and every other activity they can fit into their busy days!  The award for the 2019 Newcomer of the Year Award went Ellis County Women In Business.


    Outstanding Citizen Award

    With constant dedication to all aspects of the City of Waxahachie, this recipient of the Outstanding Citizen Award was recognized for his hometown upbringing, countless volunteer hours, and a guiding hand for the City’s current successes. The 2019 Outstanding Citizen Award went to Mayor Kevin Strength.


    As the night came to a close, there was not a dry eye in the audience as Mike Ramsey received Mayor Kevin Strength’s ‘Mayor’s Special Award.’ Honoring Ramsey's timeless dedication to Waxahachie with a key to the City and a plaque for his legacy, Strength recognized Ramsey as an integral cornerstone to the prosperity of Waxahachie.


    Ending on a high-note with cheers, toasts, and hearty handshakes - we’d like to thank everyone involved for making this year’s banquet one to remember!
