    Midlothian, Texas

    12 hour rotating/swing shift

    $17.00 per hour


    This position is primarily responsible for the functions related to the Caster Run Out. Visually monitors computers screens in pulpit to operate run out equipment and cut billets to the specified length, performs billet inspections, makes adjustments, performs routine daily maintenance and inspections of run out equipment. Will involve cleaning of the area and stocking consumables.


    • Visually monitor computers screens in pulpit to operate the run out equipment and cut billets to the specified length
    • Perform billet inspection, monitor billet weights/lengths and make adjustments as necessary
    • Assists maintenance on down days
    • Periodically use hand torches to cut billets to length
    • Periodically use torch to cut a sample of a billet for purposes of ensuring quality
    • Removes slag from under the torch pit and run out pit using rakes, shovels, water hoses, and/or mobile equipment
    • Generating tags, manually tag billets as prescribed by Process Map, and ensure that tags are correctly applied to billet cut. In some applications painting and stenciling of billets are required
    • Performs routine daily maintenance/inspection of torches and equipment
    • Transport and transfer of billets to be charged in rolling mill
    • Stock consumables, tools in area according to 5S principles


    • Performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles/mobile equipment to include fueling, cleaning, checking and adding fluid as needed
    • Follows all PPE requirements, as well as safety rules and guidelines, for all tasks being performed
    • Operates mobile equipment and overhead cranes using handheld controls to transfer product/material
    • Maintains communication with coworkers through to-way radio and hand signals
    • Demonstrates ability and willingness to work as part of a self-directed team with limited supervision
    • Maintains work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition following 5S methods
    • Assists maintenance personnel as needed
    • Assists in training of coworkers as needed
    • All other duties as assigned


    • High School Diploma or GED
    • General math skills, advanced problem solving, analytical skills, use charts, schedules, computer and touch screens in addition to follow instructions
    • Requires interpretation in the use of adjustable controls in regulating the continuous process through interpretation of measuring instruments and gauges
    • Leadership skills and ability to lead by example
    • 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred
    • Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
    • Ability to use vibration tools
    • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands
    • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching on occasional basis
    • Ability to tolerate extreme ambient temperatures
    • Ability to tolerate working in cramped quarters and at heights
    • Ability to tolerate a swing shift work schedule
    • Ability to tolerate working in areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels
